About The Instructors
Jules Mitchell leads advanced continuing education programs in biomechanics for intellectually fearless yoga teachers. She helps them integrate principles of exercise science and applications of pain science into their classes. Jules is the author of Yoga Biomechanics: Stretching Redefined, a unique, evidence-based exploration into the complexities of tissue mechanics and the human body’s resilience and adaptability. She leads workshops and courses online and worldwide, runs a popular 300 hour yoga teacher training, frequently serves as guest faculty, and hosts a comprehensive mentoring program to support teachers in both education and business. Her passion is bringing the most useful and applicable research-based concepts into the yoga community, even when it invokes a discerning analysis of popular opinions.
Kathryn (she/her) has been teaching yoga and movement since the age of 17. Growing up in her mother’s (Diane Bruni) yoga studio she has been learning about mindful movement her entire life. In 2012 Kathryn started exploring other modalities including competitive powerlifting, gymnastics, and various forms of strength-based exercise. She has completed a professional pain science mentorship with physiotherapist Neil Pearson, has interviewed some of the world’s top researchers and teachers for her podcast, has taught workshops in over 10 countries, and self-published the Mindful Strength Practice Deck.
Catherine brings a wealth of education and years of athletic experience to her role as a personal trainer. As an athlete she sustained several injuries, which led her to study the body and the mechanisms of injury and healing.
Catherine pulls from this past working experience, but has a thirst for knowledge that is never quenched. She has continued to evolve her practice and use the most up to date research and methods to better help her clients with injuries, pain, and increasing general fitness.
Catherine also has an avid interest in working with hypermobile individuals. Her consummate research has given her insight into the best ways to deal with many of the multi-faceted symptoms that come with having joint hypermobility syndrome.
With over 15 years experience as a movement coach, Charlie has worked with a diverse pool of clients, ranging from housewives to professional athletes and everything in between. In addition to his busy schedule training clients, he serves as a consultant on various corporate wellness projects, and hosts continuing education courses in the Bay Area for fitness and rehab professionals. His personal areas of study center around mobility/flexibility training and, more specifically, the physiological mechanisms behind stretching techniques.
